Maternity Massage Series

May 25, 2010

Yesterday I finished the last day of a 6-day series of workshops on perinatal massage.  I’ve taken shorter pregnancy massage workshops, but this was longer and integrated labor and the postpartum period very nicely.  It was even great just to have a refresher for those parts that were review for me.  I’m feeling completely invigorated and excited to start up my massage practice again, but it’s a bittersweet ending.  I had so much fun, and feel like I made a few connections with some of “my people,” but since I’m moving over an ocean in 6 days (!) it won’t be as easy to nurture those buds of potential relationship as I’d like.  On the other hand, it was thoroughly nourishing to be surrounded by so much energy moving in the same direction as my own.  I also learned a lot of information and techniques, so I have more to offer clients and feel even more ready to consider myself a perinatal massage therapist.

Now, if the Hawaii massage board would just process my application!  It’s been a month, people!
